About Sri Sulochanaa Industries – Automobile in Puducherry
Down here on Kalathumedu Street in Ariyapalayam, things move at their own pace. Sri Sulochanaa Industries is based right in the Villianur Commune area of Puducherry. It is a quiet street mostly. We have our unit at No. 3. Most of the folks working here live nearby in the commune. We do industrial work, mostly stuff that people around Pondicherry need for their own projects. The building isn't brand new or anything. It has some character. We usually start early before the sun gets too hot. It can get really humid in this part of India. Sometimes the machines need a bit of coaxing to get started in the morning. We just focus on the orders we have for the week. There is always a lot of dust and bits of material lying around. We clean up on Saturdays usually. It's not a corporate place. You’ll see the staff drinking tea outside around eleven. That's our routine. Being in 605110 means we are tucked away from the main tourist spots of Pondicherry. It is more of a working-class neighborhood. We like it that way. If someone needs to find us, they usually just ask around for the third gate on Kalathumedu. We don't have a big sign out front. People just know us by name now. It’s been that way for a long time. We just try to do the work and stay out of the heat.
