Description
Oil extraction produces coconut meal cake as a by-product. It is the residue left over after extracting oil from copra, and it’s primarily utilised as plant manure and cow feed.
It can be used as an effective insect repellent if combined with neem. Coconut meal cake has a 4-5 percent oil content that is extracted using a solvent extraction method. This oil has industrial use, and the de-oiled cake is used to manufacture cow feed. It’s mostly made up of fibre, with 20% protein and 10% oil.
