K. N. Madhusoodanan (Kalanjoor Madhu) ventured into civil construction in 1983 with a small culvert work in Kalanjoor and through these years he has founded the Mavanal group. The main activity of this group is civil construction in the proprietary concern K. N. Madhusoodanan Engineers and Contractors and has done a lot of bridges, aqueduct, roads, etc. in the past years. He has established two crusher units: Mavanal Granites Pvt. Ltd. and Vajra Rock Mining Industries. The group entered into stone crushing during the sabarimala road development work in the 90's when quality broken stone was required but not available in the market. They designed and assembled a mobile crusher, which enabled them to complete the work on time and pave their way into the crushing industry.
