FAQ's
How is the recyclability of the K3® r100 cup assessed?
The K3® r100 cup made of polypropylene (PP) has been thoroughly evaluated by CIRCPACK Veolia in accordance with the RecyClass methodology. With a confirmed separability of more than 90%, the plastic component and the paper wrap can be certified separately. The plastic cup therefore receives RecyClass A, the highest rating category, and is considered excellent in terms of recyclability. Additionally, the cardboard wrap was tested using the CEPI method by PTS Dresden and achieved 93.6% – “best in class repulpability.”
What decoration and design options does the K3® r100 cup offer?
The cardboard wrap offers a wide range of finishing and design options such as foil printing or embossing. It can be printed on both sides, creating additional high‑quality surfaces for your marketing messages.
What advantages does the K3® r100 cup offer compared to direc printed cups?
K3® r100 combines a thin‑walled plastic cup with a stabilizing cardboard wrap, significantly reducing the amount of plastic used compared to directly printed cups. The cardboard also provides a natural paper feel, which is perceived as particularly high‑quality and sustainable at the POS. At the same time, the double‑sided printable wrap offers additional space for communication, creating ideal opportunities for hidden marketing messages and consumer engagement
How does the separation work with K3® r100?
Since no adhesive is used between the plastic cup and the cardboard wrap, the cardboard detaches from the cup during the disposal process. This means the materials separate by themselves and can be recycled individually. To actively remind consumers to separate the components correctly, K3® includes the intuitive Greiner tear‑tab. This makes separating the cardboard and plastic even easier and more self‑explanatory.
