Freewill established NIVIA in the 1960s, with the reputation of Jalandhar as a quality football, volleyball, and basketball manufacturing base. In the 1980s, Freewill launched the first successful plastic sole shoe in the country called NIVIA Low Cut, revolutionizing the Indian Football shoe market. In the 1990s, they established the first successful molded ball unit in Jalandhar, becoming the largest manufacturer of molded balls in the country. In the 2000s, Freewill reclaimed India's position as a Quality Manufacturing Hub for Inflatable Balls by mastering machine stitching and bringing hand-stitching inside factories, obtaining various FIFA and FIBA approvals. In the 2010s, Shin Guards, Goal Keeper Gloves, and Exercise Gloves factories were established. In the 2020s, they continued with technology upgrades, manufacturing Multi-Fuze, Power Stitched, and Micro-fibre laminated balls with exclusive patents and designs.
